What happened this once great business?!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
VERY long story short. I have been a customer of theirs for at least 7 years (more like 10 if memory serves). Anyway...this all started with me not getting their weekly newsletter (which by the way I am STILL NOT GETTING). I contacted them on several occasions with absolutely no response or success, and after a long period of not ordering from them I went in my account only to find that IT WASN'T THERE ANYMORE!!!! I was in shock & quite angry. Upon investigating further I found out that NCIX closed three Ontario stores...ok...no real worry there's still their B.C. store, yet ...hold on....what does this mean? DId my account get deleted because of the other stores shutdown!? It shouldn't have as the account is an Online thing, but hey I can't deny IT'S GONE! So contacted them via their customer comments page, regarding this issue, and nothing...one month passes by STILL NOTHING. I don't know WTF is going on with this place, but I seriously have doubts that I'll order from them ever again, as ...HOW CAN I TRUST THEM ANYMORE?! All I can say is I'm sad, angry, disillusioned, and frustrated. Guess I'll have to buy from Newegg now. Maybe if NCIX new how many thousands of dollars I spent in their store, they'd do something pro active, but I am NOT going to count on it anymore.

Two months ago I placed an order (Number: 442****) with NCIX . NCIX immediately processed the Visa payment but has not delivered the product, given me a delivery date or a refund. My inquiries have met with "do not reply", Muzak, "higher than expected call volumes", " please call 1-87*-624-**** (Option 1)", a chat line that will not chat with me and " memory was ordered in form a new supplier and we are hoping to finally get this by Wednesday". What "Wednesday"? That was 2 weeks ago ! NCIX has provided the worst internet purchasing experience I have ever had, and it keeps getting worse. This company needs a User Experience consultant. I would be happy to provide input. Billing Visa for a product a company does not even have a supplier for is credit card fraud. Payment should not be processed if there is no product.

2 cancellations in a row

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I placed 2 orders with them within about a month. Both times the orders were canceled. One stated that they ran out of stock at the 'discounted' price, even though they still have them in stock, and the other stated that it was a price mistake. Seems like they either don't know how to properly conduct business in the US. We all make mistakes from time to time, but doing this so often makes me think that they are doing this intentionally to gather information about consumers. Who knows what's going to happen with my name, address, and phone number that they received with the order.

I call wait my turn in line it switches me to a voice mailbox.... This happened 4times!!!! A total of 3 hours!!!!! Also called Newegg got the same product overnighted for 11$ less.... Idk how this company is still in business. I try to throw money their way because of the respect I have for Linus and how he use to work for them but no more. I ordered 2 laptops online. Price verified, but there were issues with paypal. I contacted customer service, he walked me through steps to fix paypal issues, and I emailed him back the transaction ID. 4 days later no update so I contact to see where my order was. I was told that the payment didn't work and I needed to submit it again. I checked my bank statement and paypal statement and found out that the payment had been already been made, was asked for paypal transaction id again and gave it once more. No update. Called a few days later and was told they didnt know where my payment was, but because it was taking so long they would arrange for my order to be picked up so I wouldn't have to wait an extra week for shipping. Finally got the confirmation that payment went through and immediately received word that they cancelled my order. Turns out that despite offering me in store pick up, another brilliant employee cancelled my order because they don't allow paypal for pick up orders. Now after 2 weeks of calling/emailing 5 times a day (and the on hold music for NCIX is "The Colour of the Wind" on repeat, for 30 minutes each time I call), I'm told that the laptop I bought is now sold out. They kindly offered me to start the whole paypal order process over for an inferior laptop for more money, which I declined. I have been told that I cant be transferred to a manager, which is also lovely, so my complaints will all be online. Avoid this company.

While looking for advice on which gaming laptop to buy, I spoke with one of the staff in Ottawa west. He was helpful and gave me some advice based on my price range. He mentioned that in 20 minutes he would know the black friday prices, if I was willing to stick around. So he told me some of the changes and i bought one he recommended (15.6). The next day i see that the exact same specs but 17.3 inches is the same price. I went in to talk to the same guy and he said 'I thought you'd want the smaller one'. Being unimpressed with his response he offered for 15% restalking fee he'd give trade for the other on. The two models were just under $1800. So for $270 i can have the other machine. After spending $2000+ on a great computer, I now feel like i was played by a used car salesman. I am would not recommend taking the advice from NCIX staff.

Insulting customer service

So I go into the NCIX on Landsdowne to check out their portable hardrives and waste some time. My older Seagate 750G (with usb 2) is acting up. Two staffers ask if I want help, and I ask about the newer portable HD's with USB 3.0 connections. Specifically, I ask if I can connect a new drive with the new odd 3.0 double-plug USB 'out' connection to a conventional single USB 2.0 input into my laptop. The young guy starts cracking up, laughing hysterically and covering his face and shaking his head as if this was the most *** question he's EVER heard. He wouldnt stop. He would get up walk away, then come back, shaking his head, amazed at my stupidity. I felt insulted, then I realized this dude was a seriously immature geek with zero customer service skills. Kinda felt sorry for him. The young girl was actually very helpful. She brought up a picture of the connector wire and that solved it. Shop there? na

Terrible customer service

Order a PCI to the PCI-e adapter from NCIX, payment didn't go through the first time but the second time I re-ordered it worked. Turns out they did not cancel the first order and ended up charging me for both products without my consent and now forcing me to pay the 20% for their mistake. By the time I sent them an email all I got was, a very disrespectful email with the terms of service slapped in my face (ncix is the most shadyest computer store I know). No explanation or proper human response I will not be doing business with time in the future. I guess their moto should be money first before customer support/service

The company reached out to me to offer to send a replacement without requiring a deposit. I am glad they are offering a resolution that doesn't further inconvenience the customer, I am hoping it goes smoothly.

Original review Dec 08, 2014
I opened the shipping package only to find a completely mangled, crushed and ripped AMD processor box. The seal was broken and the processor wasn't even in the box. The processor was loose inside the shipping envelope. I was already disgusted by the way this item was packaged then I discover the processor wasn't even the one I ordered! The chip has a different model number imprinted on it then the model number that I ordered (on the invoice and mangled box). I had to place 3 different calls (all taking 15 minutes to get in touch with someone), then I am told to email photos of the damage and the processor, which I do. I am told to include my phone number in the email and someone will call me back - no one ever does. I finally call again and someone magically finds my email. I am told that the part I was sent was an OEM part not for retail sale. While the agent acknowledged I was sent the wrong product they refused to offer any solution that didn't involve me making an additional $250 charge on my credit card or sending the wrong part back then waiting for them to receive it before they will send the right part (this option doesn't work because this is a Christmas gift I will be giving in 10 days). So now I am stuck with a completely mangled box (makes for a lousy gift!), the wrong product and no options. In addition to the part being wrong, since it's an OEM part, if anything is wrong with it or goes wrong in the future I won't be eligible for AMD tech support as the part was not supposed to be sold to retail customers. I've never had such a poor customer experience. The company clearly messed up, this is not anything I am at fault for yet I am not given any options or even consideration. The agent just said "We work with many different warehouses and we don't perform the quality control.

Ncix US Used parts

I recently ordered a computer through ncix US. They put my computer together and also shipped all of the extra parts and extra boxes to me that contained things like my un-used heat sink, and a few 200mm fans I was not going to use because I got a radiator instead. The heatsink/fan combo looked like it had been used in a few hundred other computers, I was planning on selling it because I figured that I would get it un-used and in nice condition. Well, im thinking NCIX said "Hey, lets take this guys brand new heatsink/fan and grab an old one from that back and throw it in his empty part box. He wont notice." This seems like scamming to me, and since I did a prebuild, the parts cost more, so why the #### am I getting used parts. I will have to check my processor when I get home to see how damaged my "brand new" 4790k looks. The only part I got that didn't look like it was used in a few hundred other computers, was my graphics card along with my case. I read reviews all over saying how trusted they were, and also the ones that said they did stuff like this, but anything seemed better then CP or IBP. Customer service was awesome, now only if they weren't just pretending to give a ***.

You dont care about the customer.

Preferred solution: Simple. You are a company that cares about money, and that is typical. You dont care about reviews like this one and will deny the facts, thats also normal. There is no hope for your company at this point in time, no solution.

After nagging them for a bit longer, I FINALLY got them to give me the headset at the original price, but they made me pay $10 for shipping which was not in the original purchase as well as taking 2 WEEKS to get it out of their warehouse and transferred to UPS. That's just ridiculous, even if they did give it to me for the price I originally bought it at

Original review Nov 14, 2014
So the other night I was browsing computer parts and noticed a sale on the kingston hyper x clouds on NCIXUS for only $59! That's a great deal so I decided to pick up a pair. While I was on NCIX, I figured that I would also pick up my PSU through them (the EVGA supernova g2 750watts) since they had a deal with EVGA for a $20 mail in rebate. I did this late last night and I payed using paypal on their site, everything went through and they even charged me for the order. Well this morning I get this email from NCIXUS "care team" that says that my entire order was voided because my paypal address was not verified. So I wasn't too concerned, I figured I would just go back and buy them again but I wouldn't use the paypal option this time, but between last night and this morning, the price of the headset went up $30. So, naturally, I tried to call them to have them let me buy them at the price I PAID for them the previous night and they said it wasn't possible. I wasn't too surprised because I'm not even sure if NCIXUS gives their customer service reps the power to override prices, so I asked to speak to a manager and he REFUSED to transfer me, saying the manager was too busy (I think he mentioned something about a meeting), but he could have the manager call me back in 2-3 business days. WHAT? 2-3 business days just to TALK to a manager? Are you kidding me? That's ridiculous! So I turn to the online support and try emailing them, but they are just as useless, if not more useless. So now I went to paypal to get them tell me that my address WAS in fact confirmed when I made the order, and has been confirmed for the past 6 months with no changes at all. So armed with this new info, I go back and call NCIXUS and explain that voiding my order was a mistake on their end because they falsely accused me of having an unconfirmed address in paypal and showed them proof. Upon receiving this proof they STILL denied being wrong and WOULD NOT re-sell me the parts at the original prices that I bought them for. This is ridiculous. I might be able to understand not being able to give me the previous sale price if the payment info error was my fault, but it wasn't. It was 100% NCIXUS' fault and they refuse to re-sell me the parts for the price I BOUGHT them at. The only remotely good thing that came out of this was that I received a full refund for my order AFTER I bugged them that they cancelled my order without sending a refund. This is ridiculous and you can bet that I will never make a purchase from NCIX ever again. Their customer service is TERRIBLE and they make NO accommodations for the customer even when THEY are the ones with the error.

Failure to honor posted prices & price-matching policy

NCIX likes to bait and switch. They'll list low prices on their site to generate internet buzz (via Reddit, price search engines, etc.), but they won't sell at their own listed price. I've experienced this multiple times with them; they claim it's a "mistake", but it's happened on multiple occasions and I've never experienced this issue with Newegg, Tiger, or Amazon. Frankly, I wouldn't be griping (yeah, silly first-world problems) if this hadn't cost me the opportunity to buy on sale somewhere else - lesson learned, I guess. Further, they offer a price match, but wouldn't match a price that was too low.

Lost Shipments are not refunded

A shipment was lost and NCIX stated that since we didn't buy the insurance we could not get the full refund, only 100. We buy lots of computer parts -- so I guess that is their policy -- NEVER heard of a policy where the Shipper doesn't have a relationship with UPS. It is their UPS account afterall. Stick with Amazon -- NO shipment -- NO Charge! Amazon makes sure all of their merchants honor that. A 550 graphics card is lost in "UPS" land. Now I have to file a dispute and get my money the long way around. Horrible way to do a business with customer service.

HORRIBLE SERVICE Re: SHIPPING (Items NOT SHIPPED)

Black Friday online order. Issue with using using NCIX PayPal button but payment eventually sent to NCIX. Horrible Customer Service regarding getting shipping status (non provided). I Always use PayPal as it is easy to get your money back especially if you never get the product. After having payment sent on Dec 3 2013 as of the Dec 17th still not shipped. As soon as dispute filed with PayPal refund was sent immediately. Shame on NCIX a Canadian Company. Im sticking from now on with Amazon, TigerDirect, Newegg, CanadaComputers. It is not about just the price but SERVICE, CONVENIENCE & RELIABILITY!!!!
